 “A person who misses the afternoon prayer is like a person whose family and property have been destroyed.” (Jamiu’l Ahadith)

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

“The key to Paradise is prayer; the key to prayer is wudu (ablution).” (Musnad Ahmad)

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

“The Prophet was asked: ‘Which deed is the best?’ So he said: ‘Salat in the beginning of its time.'” (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 170)

Abu Hurayra said:

 “…then, the Prophet (pbuh) visits a group of people whose heads are smashed and broken by stones. Their heads are smashed by stones and then are restored; the torture goes on like that. The Prophet (pbuh) asks, ‘O Jibril (Gabriel)! Who are they?’ Jibril answers, ‘They are those who perform fard prayers lazily.’” (Mundhiri, Bukhari)

Those who hearken to their Lord, and establish regular Prayer; who (conduct) their affairs by mutual Consultation; who spend out of what We bestow on them for Sustenance; [42:38]

Here Quran describes believer:

The Believers, men and women, are protectors one of another: they enjoin what is just, and forbid what is evil: they observe regular prayers, practise regular charity, and obey Allah and His Messenger. On them will Allah pour His mercy: for Allah is Exalted in power, Wise. [9:71]
