Importance of prayer (Salah) according to the Quran and Hadith’s

Prayer is the second pillar of Islam. It is a way that connects a human with their creators, So Islam advices his followers to pray five time in a day. Five times of prayer are obligatory for all Muslims (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Mughrib, Isha). Here are some Ayats and Hadith’s on the importance of Salah.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

Indeed the first deed by which a servant will be called to account on the Day of Resurrection is his Salat. If it is complete, he is successful and saved, but if it is defective, he has failed and lost… (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 413)

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

My friend Muhammad (pbuh) gave me the following advice. Even if you are chopped up and burnt, do not associate partners with Allah and do not miss your fard prayers deliberately. Allah will move His protection away from a person who misses his fard prayers deliberately.” (Musnad: 5/238, Al-Bani Sahih Ibn Majah: 3529, Bayhaqi)

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

“When man prostrates upon reciting a verse of prostration, Satan moves away from that place by crying and says, ‘I was destroyed. Man was ordered to prostrate and he did; thus, he deserved Paradise. I was also ordered to prostrate but I avoided prostrating. I deserve hellfire.’” (from Sahih Muslim: 81)

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

“No Salat is more burdensome to the hypocrites than the Fajr (dawn) prayer and the ‘Isha’ (night) prayer; and if they knew their merits, they would come to them even if they had to crawl to do so.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]. (Riyad as-Salihin 1073)

Allah states the following:

“…Read ye, therefore, of the Qur´an as much as may be easy for you…”
(al-Muzzammil, 73/20)

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “The two Rak’ah before the dawn (Fajr) prayer are better than this world and all it contains.” [Muslim]……. (Riyad as-Salihin 1102)

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

“The qiraah of a person who follows the imam is the qiraah of the imam.” (Ibn Majah, Iqama, 13)

It is mentioned in the Quran:

Say, “Call Him GOD, or call Him the Most Gracious; whichever name you use, to Him belongs the best names.” You shall not utter your Contact Prayers (Salat) too loudly, nor secretly; use a moderate tone. [17:110]

in another place Quran says:

(They are) those who, if We establish them in the land, establish regular prayer and give regular charity, enjoin the right and forbid wrong: with Allah rests the end (and decision) of (all) affairs. [22:41]

Here Quran describes believer:

“And during part of the night, (also,) celebrate His praises, and (so likewise) after the postures of adoration. ” [50:40]
